Louzy Bay

It had been way too long since I've been to the beach so when noodle said she would treat me to a day at the beach for my birthday I was more than happy and suggested Louzy Bay. Who knew such a place existed? I saw it from far a few times but didn't know how to reach it or if it was open to the public.

After a parking on the road and a short trek through some bushes I started to doubt my beach of choice. The beach was scattered with bits and pieces of beached drift wood, plastic bottles and was very lonely. There was nobody there to provide assistance if anything were to go down like drowning, robbery, injury or any other unfortunate incidents.. we were the only ones on the beach.

Being the only people on the beach also has its advantages as well. Once again I abolished the phrase "Where the sun don't shine" as I deemed the place suitable to make my own nude beach while keeping my fingers crossed that the people in the far distance weren't getting a free peep show. Lime Cay move over, this is now my new fav beach that isn't dreadfully far from town. If someone would only rake the place it would be perfect :p. I also need to add a beach umbrella to my beach bum tool kit although I'm not sure how it would survive out there in the fierce gusty winds that battered us the on the sands.

a word to the wise?

I think I first noticed this about a week ago.. is someone trying to give me a sign? Those are my stairs to the ghetto penthouse.. why would someone put their tacky sign on it? how about they put it on their front door. Maybe it will keep away thieves :p

On saving money

So for Christmas I got my mother this nice brushed stainless steel toaster oven pictured above to replace her 20+ year old tiny rusty toaster oven. She loved it and claimed she didn't know how she managed without one for so long (*pops collar* yup my gift was great :p). Anyway since my birthday was last week and they had no idea what to get me they asked if I wanted a toaster oven too, how original. What was funny was that she asked me if I wanted the same one or a cheaper plastic model which costed 1/2 the price.. and she was serious. Silly questions aside I am now less one item away from having a fully stainless steel kitchen.

On to the matter of closing investment accounts.. intrest rates have been trending up but I noticed that it wasn't trickling down to me. So I called my bank and pointed it out to them and they told me they don't know when they will adjust their rates and they don't do private negotiations. I then enquired as to what kind of penalties I would face in closing my account, she answered then she swiftly ended the call.. she probably didn't even hear me say bye. So I drove over there on the way home from work to tell them cya and it was a different story. After much boot licking and time wasting I rejected their 100 point increase and was on my way to their competitors to build my cd ladder.

On to the matter of me being a bank, recently a friend asked me for a 7 figure($#,###,###.##) loan.. really now. He wasn't broke just having liquidity issues and made the terms of the loan very attractive but as I said before I'm not willing to take on that form of risk. It didn't really speak much for his "investment club" that every John and their dogs are starting these days which he was trying to get me to invest into.

The end of the beginning

yup it's official, I have just clocked the first twenty five years of my life and what do I have to show for it? This ecard my friend sent me.

The email also came with an apology so I was very curious to click the button to find:

older *sigh* I was caught off gaurd but good one.

So what do I plan to do for today? nada.. I think I pretty much lost interest in birthdays after growing up with my parents. The nail in that coffin was one February as a young teen when I asked my father what was I getting for my birthday only to have him point out that I didn't deserve anything.

To make the day interesting I left work early at lunch time to go home and sleep. yawn, still tired. between the birthday and work calls I probably only got in half an hour, it's like they were watching me and as soon as I dozed off the phone rang. I need some time off yet again. I only have to wait two more weeks before I can even consider applying for leave(according to my boss who is currently on leave). I'm guessing we need more people in my department, but thats just wishful thinking.

Happy new year again!

Chinese new year that is.. I thought I forgot about it this year but when I checked it was today. Let the 15 days of celebrations begin! For those of you(like I used to be a few years ago) who are wondering how random the Chinese new year is, it's based on the first day of the calender year that has a new moon. Join me in welcoming the year of the rat :p

Chinese new years means that my birthday is around the corner again.. sigh, another year to add to the stats. Birthday time also means gift or possibly gifts lol how sad. I appreciate gifts that I will use and some thought went into, so watches, clothes, cologne and any other played gifts have no home on my birthday. My advice to people who ask me what I want is to get me nothing, I'd be more pleased if they didn't waste their money on something I wouldn't appreciate to the fullest. One thing is certain though, I'll be damned if my parents try to drag me to that tired ass restaurant again. Feel free to leave gift ideas so I can pass em on to people who ask.

breaking the habit

The subject of my photo is somewhat off but this was a lunch from the canteen at my workplace. I have long recognized that this food could not be good for me and have been trying to cut back on it but it was so hard granted that I got it for free. I would sit at my desk telling myself not to take their lunch then HR would send me an email with the current days menu in all its barbi-fried goodness [drools] and the only thing stopping me from slobbing one down is just for me to pick up the phone and let the canteen know what I want. They make it so easy that I don't even have to get up, it would get dropped off at my desk.

Well not anymore, I am playing starvin' Marvin up at my new location. They have no canteen and I am not willing to walk/drive anywhere to get food. That is one of the few things I miss from working in New Kingston, if I didn't want to stay couped up in the office I could walk over to one of the many restaurants on the hip strip. I'm not a big fan of fast food so my choices were limited but at least there were options. It's still early but I think it has started to affect me at home too, on Saturday I only had 1 meal for the day.. A bowl of oats at 1pm in the afternoon and I wasn't hungry or anything the rest of the day. I had 1 meal on Sunday too but that was Terra Nova, 80+ item buffet[I had 5 plates], so I guess that doesn't count lol.

I must say I am loving the 5 minute commute to/from work now.

the days have been long..

but the worst is now over. Yup we moved office last weekend and the contents of the data center that I used to work in downtown is now uptown. The move was hardly smooth though despite the many months of planning. I was supposed to go to the new location on Sunday morning at 6am and do the cleanup work of bringing up any troublesome systems after the move. Much to my horror by that time[after 9 hours] only a fraction of the move had been completed.

There was problem after problem which resulted in me working from 6am Sunday straight through to 2pm on Monday. I could have only dreamt that after the 32hour shift it was over but there was a lot of work still left to be done so I went home and got a 4 hours sleep only to return to work at 8pm that night and work straight back to 5am Tuesday morning.

Needless to say that when I reached home on Tuesday Morning I put my phone on vibrate, threw it somewhere and slept like I've never slept before lol. I woke up ate something at lunch time and went back to sleep. The next time I woke up was dinner time so I went to dinner with some colleagues at the Liguanea Club. That place is pretty posh.. I need to start earning 4x my current income so I can afford to become a member :(

The rest of the work week flew right by me and I returned back to my office downtown today for the first time since the move. Oddly enough I saw my boss and the other guy in my department down there as well, I guess we have problems giving up such a nice large secluded office environment. It should be interesting to see how much longer they will run the AC for to cool 10,000+ sqr feet just for 3 people.

from the origins to the end

So she called me at 1:30am and asked if she could sleep over, it had been over a year since I've last seen/spoken to her. Seeing that I was fast asleep, dazed and confused I said sure without giving it much thought. It only took her a minute to drive over so I went outside let her in and went back to bed, the only light on in the house was a candle to repel mosquitoes(yeah I'm a bad host). She stood by my room door and asked if I wasn't going to give her a tour.. I had forgotten this was the first time she was coming to this place.

After the tour I went back to bed assuming she would find something to do with herself or sleep too but she said she was wide awake and seemed like she wanted to talk. She took off her skirt and snuggled up right beside me leaving a large empty space on the other side of the bed and about 1foot of space for me to sleep, yep we were back to square one like it was 2005 and I just met her again. It will be sad if we have to talk about why she and I would never work out again.

She behaved herself and only asked a few questions about what I had been up before allowing me to sleep after I explained to her I had prior obligations at 6:30am. Of course by the time she left me alone I was wide awake and she dozed off leaving me trying to wrap my mind around what was going on. I was proud of myself, a hot woman in a g-string was laying on my chest and I had no desire to do anything with her(self control: tick). Knowing her that probably got her juices flowing even more but she probably knows I will never go down that road again.

I would love if we could be friends again, she was very fun to hang out with but I don't think she is willing to settle for that alone. She said she disappeared for so long because she can't control her feelings around me, sounds like a hot steaming pile of bs to me but I guess there may be some truth to it. I will always remember how she took me under her wing and ensured I lived a pampered life when I first moved out on my own at 22... thanks Original!

How random.

On an off topic of random things, last month I noticed someone new, Clivia, linked to me(thanks) and put me in a new section by myself labeled "Male Bloggers - Men that write ..how SEXY". I have since been trying to figure out if that's a good or bad thing. Everything on her site is carnival or Trini related then there is me. go figure.

How annoying..

How is it possible that a crew of three workers take more than two weeks to paint my place? I wish my apartment was that big that it justified them taking so long but given the same amount of time, a paintbrush and a few gallons of paint, I would have single handedly finished the job already. Anyway they have finished with inside which is no longer boring white(thank you) but a "Almond blossom" according to the paint can or light yellow according to a straight man. I notice they have painted over the black wooden decorative finishes on the outside walls of the ghetto penthouse with this same color and have uglified the place imho.

Now almost every day I come home I see them tinkering about the place painting something, I'm sure nobody likes to come home and be haunted by the smell of oil paint. Anyway at some point in time I bought a bottle of febreze... whats the deal with it? I feel totally tricked by the commercials that got the best of my curiosity. Well at least if the paint smell starts sticking to my curtains or other stuff hopefully it will sort it out.

School has started back and the long lines of traffic picked up right where they left off. I was enjoying the past few weeks of cruising to work and back home in a few minutes, this will no longer be possible until summer or something else changes. Those changes specifically being me changing offices, yup I am finally leaving downtown and moving on up to.. uptown. On the topic of annoying I sat in 50+ meetings while planning this move which has been in the making for over 12 months now. I'm just glad I didn't have to chair any of those meetings. I am however looking forward to after the move, this other location shrinks my daily commute time to 10 mins to and from work in peak traffic :D. For y'all who like pictures these are some I found on my pc that I snapped from out of the windows of my soon to be x-office. My ode to downtown:

A view of Kingston and Lime Cay.

Kingston public hospital and the post central sorting office, I think all mail passes through here.

My old alma mater, STGC and the Holy Trinity Cathedral.

Sabina Park.

'08, now what?

Everybody seems to like to make new year resolutions(which always get broken a few weeks into the year). I am not one of those people. Every now and then I might think of a simple one for myself and try to stick to it. Last year was one such year and the resolution was to keep my two plants on the windowsill alive and healthy. All that really meant was that I needed to water them regularly and maybe re-pot them but I managed to fail as they are mostly dead now. I guess my thumb is brown.

I have made a new resolution for this year, to spend more money... kind of contrary to a few people's goal of saving more but I think I have the saving down pat. Lets see me mess this one up.

Twelve Days of Christmas

Why are people talking about Christmas being over? I'm sure we all know the 12 days of Christmas song and few years ago upon further investigation I found out the 12 days starts on December 25th and goes on to January 5. So for those of you (like my parents) who leave up your decorations until Easter need to start taking them down on the 6th of January. My boss called me one day and dropped a bomb on me, he had a gift for me.. lol I must be doing something right or maybe his new wife strongly suggested[nagged] that he do it. Either way it made my day, thanks!

It has been way more than 12 days since I made a post so I'll just summarize all the updates that would have probably been posts if I wasn't so lazy in bullet form... yet again.

  • I took some time off work to relax before the holidays only to find out the contractors the landlady sent over to renovate my place was ready for me. I was pretty much stuck at home the whole time as they fixed up the place and laid a fresh layer of dust over everything I owned along with drops of paint. On the plus side the place looks a lot nicer now. My parents are convinced she plans to raise the rent after she is finished.. I'm keeping my fingers crossed but even if she does, how bad could it be?
  • As per usual the eating has been non-stop.. time to unbuckle the belt :p
  • I went to a party that had a haagen-dazs stand.. this was a first for me. What was funny was I mentioned it to my sister and she said "I can't tell when last I went to a party and they didn't have one". I guess we live in two different worlds even though she only lives a few minutes from me.
  • My standby duty starts today and goes on until next week Monday. Somehow I forgot this and was previously looking for somewhere to go on old years night. Oh well change of plans.
  • Anybody that flips through tv on Christmas day knows that channel that has the yuletide log burning with Christmas carols playing for hours.. this year I taped dvded it. Yup this is probably the first time I made use of that cheap dvd recorder I bought from radio shack and was proud. Now I can listen to endless hours of Christmas music throughout all my 12 days of Christmas.
  • I fixed one of the contractor's computer. After working for one too many days in my apartment and seeing all the boxes of electronic junk he figured I must know something about this computer thing so he approached me and I told him I would look at it for him. I fixed it for him and he offered money or at least to buy me a drink for fixing it.. I couldn't take a cent from him. I have long forgotten that there are people who don't really get the chance to use or know much about computers. I am glad he bought one for his kids so they can stay current.
Oh yeah happy new year when it comes.

thats whats up

It has been a while since I've posted.. things got a bit hairy at work since my last post. Needless to say I have taken this week off so I now have a lot of time to do what I do best, a whole bunch of nothing. My landlady sent over some contractor to renovate the place so I pretty much have to stay home for the rest of the week so he can do his work.. great way to spend some time off work eh? To keep things short I will just summarize what I've been up to since my last post:

  • crackbook: yup I signed up for facebook and was a junkie like everybody else. The novelty died down pretty quickly though. It's very nice, I found quite a bit of old school friends I thought dropped off the face of the earth.
  • I went to the New Kingston stage of the annual local rally and took exactly one picture.I arrived late, the stage only lasts like 30 minutes and the place was packed with people.. I was lucky I could even see a car. What amazes me is that people will stand on the corner and watch the car race head on at them into the corner at ridiculous speeds and have the time not to crap their pants. I have seen where rallies go wrong and the spectators feel it.
  • I went to Web 3.0 Banana Boy, Alex's, wedding. Congratulations Alex! I want it to be my turn next :p. Need to find a girlfriend first to get that ball rolling. I don't really get suited up often so you know I had to take pics
I'm not really sure what I was doing in the second pic but the kids seem to be putting up all sorts of finger signs these days so I joined in with my own lol. For those of you who may ask, that's a Trinidadian flag on my wall(better than a plain wall), yes I'm half Trini too.
  • Noodle came over on Saturday for the first time since we broke up. She was hungry so we walked over to Barbican to get something for dinner. On the way back home in the darkness we got held up.. that's Barbican for ya. Anyway the guy crept up behind us with what he would have liked us to believe was a gun and told us to give us our valuables. This was the first time I was being jacked so I stood there a bit stunned trying to figure out if it was a gun, knife or what in his hand. Hearing noodle struggling with him to keep her purse snapped me back to reality and I rushed him. Well I'm still alive so I guess he wasn't packing heat.. he ran off and jumped in a waiting car.
  • The following day I visited my parents for the usual Sunday lunch and my pops said he had something to show me. He brought down a knife sheath he found in my old room and questioned me about it with great concern. My only answer didn't offer him much peace of mind though, "it's just something to remind me of high school" I said. It was a pretty big sheath and the knife that belonged to it was something of this nature with spikes in the knuckles. Looking back now I'm glad my teen years was less eventful.
To answer GC's question I haven't found anybody new yet.. it has just been tv, sleep and work for me. :(

For those of you looking for a sex scandal

Last week a local paper posted the latest scandal College girls gone wild and since then a barrage of people from all over the world has been hitting my blog looking for the photos. Upon further investigation I realize that I was ranked 2nd for the search of "naked uwi girls" on google thanks to my uwi carnival post earlier this year with a few scantily clad girls. Poor pervs they wouldn't find those pics online any time soon... well not until today at least :p

I went to the other side of town today to attend a 2 day workshop and I met a cute UWI girl during the lunch break. Apparently her mother was in the workshop and also works at that location so she often hangs out at that office and studies. She seemed like a really fun girl so we chatted for a bit then it hit me that since she was in the mix of things maybe she knows about this sex scandal. My word did this girl have the hook up, she brought up email and began to show me pretty much every recent local sex scandal. So for those curious onlookers I will post one of the cleaner pics of the UWI girls she sent to me.

I'm not sure how effective my censoring is but I'm sure these girls would appreciate it. Now when I went to UWI my friends and myself were mostly dirt poor.. where do these girls find such a nice boat to have their night sexcapades on? My next question is whats with all the girl on girl on girl action? There is no shortage of men out there (like me.. I'm single :p)

I'm sorry for those of y'all who were expecting more pictures but such is life, find a uwi person to send them to you. On that note I need to find some reason to go up to campus, this coworkers daughter reminded me how hot uwi girls are. Maybe if I see her around that office again I could try something :p the last time I checked the jury came back with the verdict that coworkers daughters were fair game lol.
